Volunteers

We  organise small groups to undertake maintenance tasks. We use methods of working to reflect Covid-19 restrictions. We are carrying out a more extensive programme of works on some Sundays and some mid-week days over the winter.  The next planned volunteer sessions are on Sunday 15th October and Thursday 2nd November. Get in touch if you are interested in joining us, and/or would like to receive details of future dates and tasks. We will then contact you to confirm the arrangements as each opportunity arises.

You can find out more about our volunteer programme by watching our introductory video. All are welcome. Tools and instruction are provided. Contact mpw@papplewick.org or phone Lee Scudder on 07753 850758 to find out the latest situation.   Bad weather – check in to see if the work is going ahead.

Covid-19: Don’t come out if you are unwell, or if you have been in contact with somebody who is unwell.

This year we have had a programme of 7 volunteer days to continue our archaeology project. In partnership with the Miner2Major landscape project and York Archaeological Trust the last volunteer session took place on Thursday 27th July. Activities in this phase completed the work in our open trench, which is now being landscaped. We are trying to find out more about how the Robinsons’ water system actually worked, but no more dates have been set yet. To find out more information contact mpw@moorpond.org
