After our long ‘dormant period’, we are re-starting the programme of volunteering in June. There is a timetable of forthcoming dates.
The next meeting of the Friends on 30th June will be a guided walk through the project area. We will point out the work that has been done in the last few months and explain our plans for the future. We will meet at the Village Hall on Linby Lane at 7pm. This is open to both members and non-members. You need to register in advance if you wish to attend, so that we can comply with the C-19 regulations about tracing and numbers. Contact us on 0115-963-2057 or mpw@papplewick.org for more details or to book a place.
On July 25th there will be an ‘open day’ event as a contribution to the CBA national ‘Festival of Archaeology’. This is being presented in partnership with Miner2Major and Nottinghamshire County Council. There will an exhibition in the Village Hall and the opportunity to join one of three guided walks exploring the archaeology of the moor pond woods site. These will take place at 10am, 12:30pm and 3pm. Additional information is available from the Council for British Archaeology website. Places on the walks are limited, and can be booked by contacting tori.bedingfield@nottscc.gov.uk
